John August -- a longtime
SEIU official who’s currently the Executive Director of the Coalition of Kaiser Permanente Unions --
is at the center of a new scandal that’s rocking SEIU, according to a well-placed
source.
Readers will likely remember August for his infamous speech
to Kaiser workers about “21st
century unionism.” Now, in an act of poetic justice, August is apparently on
the “chopping block” for pursuing his own form of “partnership” with women on his
staff.
August -- just like SEIU-UHW’s Dave
Regan -- has a long history of extra-marital affairs. In fact,
August’s trail of sexual trysts stretches from Pennsylvania to
California.
And although August has somehow disentangled himself from
previous scandals, it sounds like his latest abuses -- which allegedly involve
sexually harassing one of his own staffers and leaving a trail of evidence in
email messages -- may put August down for count.

Rumor has it the John August is on chopping block for sexually harassing a coalition staff member. Allegedly when the staff person quit and turned in phone, compromising emails were found. Allegedly a meeting is scheduled that he will not attend...and my rumor says the only coalition international prez who is holding out on termination is Mary Kay [Henry]...could it be that SEIU does not want to be associated with yet another sex scandal?
What about the statement that says: “the only

[Henry]”? Well, the board of directors of the Coalition of Kaiser Permanente Unions is composed of the presidents of nearly a dozen international unions, including AFSCME, the Teamsters, the Steelworkers, the UFCW, the AFT and SEIU.
Apparently, SEIU's Mary Kay Henry is the only person on the board who's preventing August from getting axed. Why? Because SEIU has been stung by so many scandals that Mary Kay doesn't want to see yet another one of her staffers go down in flames on the front pages of newspapers. Hmm... it looks like things get tough when you're the most corrupt union in the nation!
So how long can Mary Kay hold out? Will John August's compromising emails be revealed to the public? Given Mary Kay's position on gender politics, why is she supporting a pig like August? And why has SEIU not disclosed information about August to its members?
