NLRB Sets Date for Re-Run of Giant Election at Kaiser Permamente

Yesterday, the NLRB announced a date for the re-run election between NUHW and SEIU-UHW  involving 45,000 workers at Kaiser Permanente in California. It's a big deal -- this is the largest private-sector union election since the 1940s!

Ballots will be mailed out on April 5 and are due back on April 29 (it's a vote-by-mail election). The ballot count will begin on May 1.

The original election happened in 2010, but the results were thrown out because SEIU-UHW committed multiple violations "that the Judge found to have interfered with the employees’ exercise of a free and reasoned choice," according to a press release issued yesterday by the NLRB. Here's an old post with the full text of the judge's 34-page decision.

And here's the press release issued by NUHW.

Hey Kaiser workers, time to get your game on!!
